Second Empire Victorian Stunner in Athens, $925,000
Kandy Harris | March 11, 2015It’s none too affordable, but this 19th century Greene County Second Empire is just too gorgeous to ignore. Situated on a open swathe of meadow, almost like an actress from a more graceful age taking her moment on stage, the house is a well-preserved ornate antique both inside and out. We love the recessed windows all over the bedrooms, window moldings, fancy chandeliers, and the grandeur of it all. The kitchen, however, seemed surprisingly lackluster, but then again, we’re pretty picky about our kitchens. Located just north of the village of Athens and south of Coxsackie across the Vosburgh swamp from the Hudson River. Too rich for your blood? Stay tuned as we bring you more affordable options later today…
