Stately Beacon Victorian Awaiting Your Artistic Vision, $299,000
Kandy Harris | July 22, 2015Is $300,000 too much for a fixer-upper? Perhaps, but when said fixer-upper is this c.1870 Victorian with a slate roof and more original detailing than we can shake a stick at, it might be worth every penny. Lots of tight interior shots come with the listing, so it’s difficult to get an overall feel for just what’s needed here. We can, however, see lots of those details we love like arched pocket doors (can we figure out a way to bring back pocket doors?), recessed windows, crown moldings, and plaster light fixture medallions. Another interesting thing about this place is that it’s located in a neighborhood surrounded by relatively modest homes. Why is it here? Were there others like it once upon a time? Regardless, if you’re a creative type who longs to channel their vision into renovating one of the coolest houses in Beacon, this Victorian could be your muse. Minutes from the Dia: Beacon and the Metro North train station.
