Stately Riverside Greek Revival, $1.7 million
Upstater Staff | September 16, 2014You might be familiar with this property if 1) you are a locally-trained masseuse/aesthetician; or 2) you enjoying not paying over $100 for a 45 minute massage. The grandiose Greek Revival is home to the Hudson Valley School of Massage Therapy, located in the Ulster County riverside hamlet of West Park. Based on the website, it looks like the owner is moving on to other ventures and putting the school on the market. HVSMT has been around for quite some time, and when it comes to studying massage therapy/aesthetics, you’d be hard-pressed to find a prettier environment in which to do so. The main house 7000 square feet in size and, according to the listing, Henry Ford put a bid on the house for his Hudson Valley residence. So, it’s historically-significant, certainly a landmark, and possesses those million dollars views to match the price tag. We only wish there were more pictures of the interior. Also, the taxes are so crazy, we can’t help but wonder if that’s the reason the owner is selling it.
