If you’re visiting the Hudson Valley chances are you want the full experience and the serenity that comes with it. Wappingers Falls isn’t the biggest tourist destination, but it is in a prime location – a short drive away from Beacon, Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, Cold Spring and more. Rent a room in this beautiful ranch style home and stay your weekend in peace; drive to any of the neighboring counties for the mountains, museums and food the valley has to offer. The rooms are beautiful and cheap and the renter is peace-minded. The “meditation loft” with step ladder access seems convincing enough. A small group of good reviews too, all of which promise homemade breakfast every morning. This weekend is the “Bounty of the Hudson” wine festival in Marlboro, where various vineyards of the Hudson Valley offer samples of original New York wine. In Poughkeepsie the Dragon Boat Race & Asian Festival is being held, wherein dragon boats race, taiko drumming is played and Asian culture is celebrated.
