Stone House Bargain of the Day
Kandy Harris | June 26, 2014The Ulster County hamlet of Hurley is another place to add to your stone house tour list. The one depicted above is by far the cheapest one we found this week, so not surprisingly, it looks like it need some work. But maybe not too much work? Anyway, we still love the old-fashioned elements of the interior, crooked floors an ceilings and all. Unless they’re hiding around the corner, there are no appliances in the kitchen. The house was built in 1735 with later addition that we’re not nuts about, utilitarian though it may be (home office, studio, guest wing, etc). Hurley is located about 10 miles west of Kingston on the other side of the Thruway.
