Sullivan County Vintage Ranch, $89,000
Kandy Harris | March 6, 2015
Not much happening in the five-figure range with Dutchess County mid-mods this week, so we took a trip west to Sullivan County, where we discovered this 1961 Ranch seemingly frozen in time. In fact, when we first saw it in the listings, we exclaimed, “It’s the house from Edward Scissorhands” In reality, that house looks like this:

…but you can easily see the similarities: Single-level Ranch, big windows, mid-mod sensibility through and through minus the pastel colors. What really grabbed about the house in Sullivan County is the kitchen, complete with antique cabinetry, large windows, and skylights. The living room’s a pleasing throw-back, as well, with a brick fireplace and wood paneling. This is likely a cash-only sale, but you can earn enough by skillfully shaping your neighbors’ topiary.
