Sweet, Petite Cottage near the Ashokan Reservoir (PENDING), $95,000

Looking at this 858 sq.ft. cottage in Ulster County reminded us of this funny piece questioning the logistics of tiny house living. While the size might disqualify it from being an “official” tiny house, we can’t help but wonder about things like privacy and the aftermath of Mexican Dinner Night, even in a sprawling 850 sq.ft. house with a practically behemoth quarter-acre yard. However, for an escape to the country, we think 850 sq.ft. is enough room, especially since there are actual walls in this tiny(ish) house. Said rooms are quite small, not surprisingly, making the kitchen look almost enormous in comparison. Apart from size, the cottage has a ton of updates like a fresh coat of paint inside and out, dining room flooring, paneling, porch, and on-demand heating system. Located on the western end of the Ashokan Reservoir in the town of Olive on the Bush Kill, close to the local library and town pool. House is pending but continues to be shown.
