T.M.I.dol Celebrates National Coming Out Day on October 16th
Alex Simeoforides | September 18, 2015
In celebration of National Coming Out Day (October 11th), the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center in Kingston has teamed up with the TMI Project to present the newest theme of their popular series T.M.I.dol: coming out. On October 16th readers will compete by sharing their personal experiences coming-out through short stories and monologues; audience applause will determine the winner of the top prize. Judging from the TMI Project’s overwhelming success, past T.M.I.dol events, and their seamless mixture of hilarity and sincerity; I’d bet my kitten you won’t want to miss it, and I would take a bullet for that kitten.
Beloved comedian and co-founder of the TMI Project Julie Novak will emcee the event, now back from her highly lauded NYC Fringe Festival show “America’s Next Top,” about coming-out and gender fluidity. Tickets for the event are $10 via Brown Paper Bag and will be sold for $15 at the door. If you want to compete in the story slam, you can sign up by e-mailing info@tmiproject.org – but don’t dilly dally, only the first ten are chosen!
