Staff | May 11, 2017Telegraph UK Travel recently awarded Emerson Resort & Spa, located in Ulster County, their “Tried/Tested/Recommended” seal of approval. The resort on the Esopus Creek in the Catskills also got high marks on its location, services & facilities (including their renowned spa services), and value for money, with 9 out of a possible 10 points for each, and an overall rating of 8/10. Here’s how they summed up the resort:
“The best modern resort in the Catskills, packed with amenities and scenically located between two small mountain ranges beside the Esopus Creek. It’s an ideal year-round option for outdoor adventures and trips to the artsy towns of Woodstock, Kingston and Saugerties.”
Telegraph gave the Emerson’s 54 rooms an above-average 8/10, remarking: “Several features make these rooms extra appealing, each has an outdoor deck with chairs overlooking the Esopus, a warming indoor (gas) fire with couch and easy chair, a dining table, desk, king bed and the bathrooms have a huge whirlpool bath and Swiss rain shower.” Emerson’s restaurant, Woodnotes Grille, received a 7/10.
Also noted was Emerson’s family and kid-friendly atmosphere with “children’s movies and games, s’mores to toast on the bonfire and outdoor family activities like racquet ball and bocce,” as well we cheap children’s meals and cots/cribs available at no extra charge. Room start at £220, or $283.47 in US dollars.
