For $80/night, this rental across the road from Lake Carmel is a deal. The space accommodates five guests in a king size trundle bed, twin bunk beds, a small convertible sofa, and cots/inflatable mattress. Cook up dinner in the kitchen after enjoying a kayak around the lake (apartment includes lake rights, canoe, and kayak). 2-night minimum stay. There’s one quirk with this rental: Apartment includes a patio/lower level deck, but guest cannot use it after 9:30pm. Reviewers said this about the lake apartment:

And, three baths means never having to wait for a shower in the morning. Located in Putnam Valley on 7 acres wooded acres on a mountain, privacy ensured. $150/night, 1-night minimum stay.

The Treehouse Lovenest, Carmel NY
And finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: The treehouse. It’s not a true treehouse in that it isn’t built into a tree, but its elevated position puts it up in the trees, making it feel like you’re in a cozy, hidden space among nature. Accommodates 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, and if you love vinyl, you’re going to love this rental’s record collection and general Bohemian aesthetic. Situated about an hour + 20 minutes from NYC, the house includes a 1000 square foot wrap around deck overlooking a stream and dedicated grilling deck. Also adjacent to 150 acres of DEP land. $250/night, 2-night minimum stay.
