This Colonial Is Big, But Needs Updates: $649.9K

Today’s house has the mailing address of Kingston, but it teeters right on the northwest boundary of Rosendale. It’s a classic Colonial, down to the white siding and black shutters.

The 2,688-square-foot home was built in 1990, and the interior decor harks back to those days. But the bones are good, and the new owners can use their imagination to redecorate to their hearts’ content.

Marbled gray tile greets you in the foyer, with gray carpeting climbing its way up a slim-spindled staircase.

The living/dining area is open concept, with a hardwood floor and a white-manteled fireplace.

The kitchen has a U-shaped bank of oak cabinets topped with a beige, wood-tone countertop. The appliances are a mix of white and stainless steel.

A brick backsplash adds a rustic look.

A breakfast area is on the other side of the kitchen, with French doors out to the deck.

A family room is just off the breakfast room. It has a hardwood floor and is big enough for a sectional sofa.

The half bath on the main floor has an oak vanity and neutral-toned floral wallpaper. It’s all due for an update.

There’s a landing at the top of the stairs that’s good for a bookcase, storage, or other function.

The primary bedroom has basic ’90s decor (such as the ceiling-height border). The windows are nearly floor to ceiling.

The decorative border curls around this vanity area between the ensuite bath and a walk-in closet.

The primary bath has the same floral wallpaper as the main-floor bath, along with an oak vanity, too.

Teddy bears are the theme for the ceiling border in this room, which has blue walls and blue wall-to-wall carpeting.

The same decor method is practiced in this room, only with pink on the floor and in the border.

There’s that wallpaper again, in a hall bath shared by the secondary bedrooms. There’s a tub/shower, too.

This bedroom has a dusky blue carpeted floor and double closets.

The laundry room needs some scrubbing and repainting but is a good size.

The walkout basement includes a carpeted bar area.

An attached, two-car garage is on one side of the house, next to a detached garage and carport.

There’s a big deck, with an above-ground pool attached. The house sits on just over three acres and is close to both Rosendale and Kingston amenities.
