In our tour through Hyde Park, we’ve found a mix of renovated older homes and newer homes. Today, we’re looking at a straight traditional home that dates to 1945.

It’s a center-hall Colonial that’s had work done to it throughout the years. The front porch is roomy, with a stair that cants off to the side and makes the best use of the porch space.

The front door opens to the living room, which has a dark, engineered-wood floor and gray walls.

The center staircase separates the living room from the kitchen, with a door leading to the side yard.

The kitchen has gray ceramic-tile flooring, gray walls, and a white-subway-tile backsplash. The cabinets are a clean white, with black hardware. Countertops are marbled black granite, and stainless-steel appliances really add a higher-end flair to the space.

An eat-in area is next to the fridge.

Surprisingly, there’s just one bathroom in the entire house, and it’s on the main floor. It’s got a red accent wall along with white walls; a wood floor; a quartz-topped, double-sink vanity; a tub/shower lined with white subway tile…

…and a laundry area.

There’s a main-floor bedroom, which is great for an older family who wants to avoid stairs on the daily but still have plenty of space for grandchildren to visit.

In the upstairs hall, a walk-in closet could be a good candidate for a second bath.

The primary bedroom is long. Currently, it’s separated by furniture into a sleeping area…

…and a sitting area, each with its own TV.

This secondary bedroom has its own TV niche, too, along with wood flooring and gray walls.

This bedroom’s got dark floors and terra-cotta-painted walls, and is currently used as a playroom.

That side door off the living room leads to a small, raised deck. Stairs from there bump into the steps from the platform deck on the side of the house—the new owner might want to double-check the safety standards and regulations in the town regarding that situation.

The yard comprises about a fifth of an acre. The side yard and backyard are fully fenced, with paver paths that wind around and lead to a patio and firepit.

There’s a garage under the house, and a big shed snugged up against it.
