This Retro Bungalow Has Three Bedrooms and Optional Lake Rights for $89K

On this Five-Figure Friday, we’re traipsing around Fallsburg, Sullivan County, to this 1930s bungalow.

The listing says it’s got three bedrooms, and measures 864 square feet. Of course, like any five-figure property, the outside looks like it needs work.

The same kinda goes for the inside, too. But wait—that’s a SubZero refrigerator in the kitchen, and those floors look nicer than what we usually see in a sub-$100K place. We’re intrigued.

Who here was raised during the 1970s “Early American” decor phase (*looks around, raises hand*)? The new owner can relive that era, since all of this dark wood and scratchy wool plaid upholstered furniture comes along with the house sale.

One has to wonder why the previous owner would choose such a green shade of paint to “go” with that furniture. Still, though, the walls look to be in good shape.

There’s a fireplace here, too. According to specs in the listing, the house is heated with wood. The new owner needs to find out more about that.

This bedroom has neat wood planking on the walls. There are no other bedroom pics in the listing.

The screened porch is long and spacious, but needs scrubbing and a new coat of paint. We’re hoping that’s old red paint on the floor.

Oh, and there’s a hot tub.

The property is just over a tenth of an acre. It’s a half-mile to Loch Sheldrake (with the option to have lake rights, too). It’s 20 minutes to Resorts World Catskills, and a half-hour to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.
