Let’s explore our favorite residential real estate listings in Newburgh, New Windsor, and Cornwall…

A few weeks ago, Chronogram provided a handy-dandy guide to these three eastern Orange County towns, which drove us to the listings to see what was on the residential real estate market. And, those listings did not disappoint us! Among the single-family listings, we found a variety of affordable homes, many of which were renovated.

Furthermore, the area has a little slice of everything: Newburgh provides culture, diversity, music, art, great food, a strong sense of community, and a drive toward renewal. Down the shore a piece lies the idyllic village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, a town that moves at a slower pace and offers quiet neighborhoods and proximity to Storm King Art Center. And, right in the middle of them both is New Windsor, which consists of mostly suburban neighborhoods.

No area is perfect, and while these towns might offer affordability in the listings, the property taxes are high. For example, this modest three-bedroom Cornwall home listing for $239,999 had a tax bill of over $7,000 last year. Consider it a friendly “heads up.”

Regardless, this part of Orange County is one of our favorites in the mid-Hudson Valley. It’s filled with the natural beauty of the Hudson River, the Hudson Highlands and Bear Mountain State Park to the south. And, it’s less than 90 minutes from NYC.

So, join us this week as we bring you our favorite real estate listings from Newburgh, New Windsor, and Cornwall.

Stay tuned…
