This Week on Upstater: Set in Stone in the Hudson Valley and Catskills

stone homes

Happy Monday, Upstaters! This week, we’re ready to rock-and-roll with stone homes and features…

In need of some stability in your life? Looking for a house that will last? Or, maybe you just love the natural look of stone. If so, this is going to be your week.

For the next five days, we’ll be featuring homes made of stone or include stone features like fireplaces, interior walls, exterior walls, fountains, pools, landscaping ornamentation, patios, chimneys, and more! Turns out, there’s plenty to choose from on the market, whether you want just a little stone or a riot of craggy outcroppings and fortifications.

As for our inspiration for this week’s theme, all you need to do is look around the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains. From the Shawangunk Ridge to the Kaaterskill high peaks to the Hudson Highlands, this area is set in stone.

Dibble’s Quarry, Kaaterskill High Peak, Catskills.

And, of course, there’s always Opus 40 in Saugerties, the ultimate stone lover’s destination:

Feeling stone-cold excited about this week’s crop of stone homes and features? Keep watching this space all week long on Upstater, and we promise not to take you for GRANITE (see what we did there?). Stay tuned…
