The Farmer’s Museum in Cooperstown is hosting their cherished holiday tradition “Candlelight Evening,” Saturday, December 12 from 3 to 7 pm. Festivities include horse-drawn wagon rides with jingle bells, arts and crafts activities for children, a dramatic reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, and a bonfire on the Tavern Green. Poetry at The Coffee House
Phoenicia Festival of the Voice Foundation is hosting a poetry reading this Sunday, December 13 at 4 pm featuring poets Sharon Israel, Leslie Gerber, Judith Kerman, and Sparrow. Set as part of the “Gatherings at 90 Main” series, this event is meant to celebrate community, share experiences, and have fun. Light refreshments, coffee and tea will be served. Shandaken Theatrical Society Presents It’s a Wonderful Life
Still in Phoenicia, the Shandaken Theatrical Society presents “It’s a Wonderful Life,” a holiday classic adapted by Philip Grecian, and directed by Gordon Brown. Fifteen local actors portray over fifty characters in a 1940s period radio studio setting. Pianist Lee Stowe provides live piano accompaniment, and sound effects are arranged by Gary Kromirs.
