The Aeolus Quartet Performs at Bethel Woods

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is hosting a classical music concert this Sunday, April 23 at 3 pm featuring the Aeolus Quartet. Formed by Nicholas Tavani, violin, Rachel Shapiro, violin, Gregory Luce, viola, and Alan Richardson, cello, the Quartet will perform Schubert’s “Quartettsatz” in C Minor, D 703, Schumann’s Major Quartet Op. 41, No. 3, and Samuel Barber’s String Quartet in B Minor, Op. 11. The Aeolus Quartet has performed extensively throughout North America, Europe and Asia. It has won several awards, and released two albums. Nature Writer Leslie T. Sharpe Speaks at Inquiring Minds in New Paltz

Inquiring Minds Bookstore in New Paltz is hosting naturalist and nature writer Leslie T. Sharpe this Saturday, April 22 at 6 pm. Sharpe will be reading from her new book The Quarry Fox: And Other Critters of the Wild Catskills, released by The Overlook Press earlier this year. Following the tradition of John Burroughs, a Catskills native, Sharpe draws on her personal observations as well as the latest scientific discoveries in the field, to tell a captivating story of the wild life, reinforcing a deeply felt appreciation for the natural beauty. Elaine Grandy Shows at Longyear Gallery

Longyear Gallery in Margaretville is hosting a solo show, opening reception Saturday, April 22 at 3 pm, featuring the works of Elaine Grandy, a multi-media artist who’s had a long affiliation with the gallery. Driven by color, shape, and storyline, Grandy trusts her instincts when it comes to making artistic choices.
