Painting the Catskills Art Show at the Erpf Center
The Erpf Center in Arkville is hosting an art exhibit Painting the Catskills, opening reception Saturday, August 29 at 2 pm. The show features works by landscape painters Michael Herstand and Kamilla Talbot. Herstand is also a printmaker and sculptor. Talbot teaches at the National Academy of Art. Both artists have shown extensively in New York City and internationally. Their landscapes are inspired by the Catskills’ farming life. The show will remain on view through October 16. The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development Summer Gathering
The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development is hosting a Summer Gathering and Open House event at the Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpretive Center in Mt. Tremper Saturday, August 29 from 11:30 am to 4 pm. At 12 noon there will be brief remarks, followed by lunch. For more information, visit catskillcenter.org

Kate Pierson Live at Byrdcliffe Guild
The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is hosting a benefit concert Friday, August 28 at 7:30 pm. Kate Pierson of the B52 will perform Guitars and Microphones, an event that benefits the expansion of the guild’s ceramics studio. The concert will take place at the Byrdcliffe Barn. The Harvest Festival at Bethel Woods
Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel is hosting its 17th annual Harvest Festival beginning Sunday, August 30. The emphasis this year is on the community’s youth. The festival features a farmer’s market and a craft village as well as activities for children including games, pony rides, face painting, and music. For more information, visit bethelwoodscenter.org
