Woodstock Film Festival
Woodstock Film Festival takes place this weekend at several locations in Woodstock, Saugerties, Rosendale and Rhinebeck. In addition to screenings there will be panel discussions and other events. Friday, October 1 at 9:15 pm Natalie Merchant’s documentary Paradise is There will premiere at the Woodstock Playhouse. On Saturday, October 3 at 2 pm there will be a panel on Women in Film and Media, held at the Kleinert / James Center for the Arts. New this year, the festival introduces a World Cinema Competition Award category, in partnership with the Netherlands Consulate, and DutchCulture USA. Steven Lang from Avatar and Melissa Leo from The Fighter are among the Maverick Award presenters this year. For more information, visit woodstockfilmfestival.com.

Columbia County Council on the Arts’ Member Show
Columbia County Council on the Arts is hosting its Annual Member Show at The Warehouse in Hudson (opening reception Saturday, October 3). Over a hundred works in all media by regional artists will remain on view through October 12. The opening reception will be held October 3 from 6 to 8 pm. Rhinebeck Arts Festival
Rhinebeck Arts Festival takes place this weekend Friday through Sunday, October 2 – 4 at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. Over two hundred artists will participate with works in all media.
