And You Thought the Party Was Over…

Happy New Year Upstater Friends and Fans!

Lest you think the party is over, there is one more huge hurrah that you shouldn’t miss this weekend (and then you can stick to your juicing and your yoga and your low carbs blah blah — in fact, let’s make Wellness In 2015 our topic for next week, shall we?)

But in the meantime, let’s feed your head. Who is one of the greatest living legends that young, old and everyone in between all adore? Ding, ding, ding! Stevie Wonder!

Yours Truly saw Stevie on this most recent limited concert tour and was just blown away. Every song so magical, so danceable and so relevant today (Songs In The Key of Life — the album he performed from start to finish on this tour — could’ve been written in 2015 instead of 1976).

This Saturday, do not miss “Stevie Wonder Tribute: A Benefit For The Woodstock Day School,” at The Bearsville Theater, 7pm door / 8pm show, organized by my pal Paul Green.

Check out this list of performers: Jason Bowman, Will Bryant, Lee Falco, Lisa Green, Aaron Freeman, Paul Green, Connor Kennedy, Elijah & The Moon, Jerry Marotta, Dr. Know, Rachel Marco Havens, Brandon Morrison, Adrien Reju, Keith Slattery, Lindsey Webster, Simi Stone, Ida Hakkila, Elizabeth, Dan & Storey Littleton, Joey Eppard, Arc Iris and the kids from The Paul Green Rock Academy.

Yeah, that’s right… didn’t get a chance to catch Aaron Freeman (AKA Gene Ween of WEEN) on his latest tour? Here ya go. A Bad Brains fan? Dr. Know at your service! Hearing so much buzz about Arc Iris or Connor or Elijah? All on the same stage!

Tickets priced for every budget, and proceeds go towards a great progressive K-12 school, so what’s not to like?

And I expect you to look fabulous, so Smart Cookies might want to stop in at mother-daughter shops Woodstock Design and DIG — located, respectively, in Woodstock (duh) and Saugerties — as both are beginning their epic winter sales right now.

Daughter Daisy had a pretty fab stint as a stylist in LA before returning to the HV with husband Van to open DIG and their boutique offerings rival anything you’d find in NYC. Daisy stocks jeans to fit every body, an amazing array of dresses and party frocks and super cute home store annex too. I’ve never left Woodstock Design or DIG without a shopping bag (or three!) in hand…so go get cute, STAT! With sale prices like these, you can afford the GOOD seats at Stevie.

See you looking fabulous on the dance floor!
