Three-bedroom on 3+ acres in Fishkill for $385K

We’re concluding our enclosed-porch themed tour this week with this quaint home in Fishkill.

It’s 111 years old, but has been built upon and renovated over the years. It sits on more than three and a half acres between the village of Wappingers Falls and Fishkill, and is just four miles from the New Hamburg Metro-North station.

The living room has a mix of painted and paneled walls, and wall-to-wall carpet. We bet the new owner can’t resist a peek under that fluffiness to see if hardwood floors sleep underneath. But there are big, bright windows and a neatly arched doorway…

…into a dining room with a cute bay window and wide-board dark-wood wainscoting. Duck through another arched doorway into the kitchen.

The kitchen is long and lean, with granite counters, an electric range, and a big, bright window. There are lots of cabinets here for storage.

At the other end of the kitchen, you’ll find the main-level bathroom and a door to the porch.

Whoever designed this porch really brought the outdoors in, with the sloped roof of the original side of the house still represented here. The room is big and brightly lit by all of the windows, which have bamboo roller shades to control the UV, and an overhead ceiling fan.

Inside the house are three bedrooms. Here is the original primary bedroom, with wall-to-wall carpeting and a roomy closet.

The main bath is tiled halfway up the wall, and has a neutral white tone.

This secondary bedroom has some original paneled doors, but most of them are hollow-core lauan doors—including bifolds that conceal a handy laundry closet.

Head upstairs to the new primary suite, which has a carpeted bedrooom…

…that’s big and has a coved ceiling. Off the bedroom is a wood-floored den…

…and this full bath.

There’s a one-car attached garage off the roomy driveway.

But if that’s not enough, the next owner will have this two-car garage…

…which measures a whopping 1,500 square feet, with 14-foot ceilings and 10-foot bay doors.
