Troy NY: Land of the Low-Priced Victorian House
Kandy Harris | October 26, 2017Longing for a low-priced Victorian house but still want all the goodies that come with a Victorian house? You’ve come to the right place. And, that place is Troy NY, located on the east side of the Hudson River opposite Albany.
We hit a mini-goldmine of beguiling Victorian houses at affordable listing prices, like this 2500 square foot, three bedroom home originally built in the 1870s. In fact, the old-fashioned charm remain in the details like mahogany-inlaid wood floors, high ceilings, large windows, and front entry with staircase.
Includes screened-in front porch, walk-up attic, large backyard with patio, and lots of updates like kitchen appliances, baths, and some of the windows. Since we’re celebrating Halloween, it’s worth mentioning that this house sits right next door to a cemetery. Also next door: Lots of pretty older homes situated on tree-lined streets. Someone recently inquired on Facebook about good neighborhoods in Troy city. This one certainly qualifies.
