Updated Coxsackie Village Victorian, $239,000
Kandy Harris | March 5, 2012This house, according to the listing, was renovated and rebuilt using its original, sturdy bones. The beautiful wide-plank floorboards were also kept and gussied up. It’s quite indicative of what we discovered in the Coxsackie area: Nice older house, lots of upgrades, reasonably priced. This one is close to the waterfront, too.
One of the highlights of this house is the kitchen. It contains a pro-grade six-burner Wolf stove, two sinks, granite counter tops, the works. Plus, the cherry wood floors are a lovely touch.
Good detailing throughout, including the ornate arched entryway from the dining to the living room, the wainscotting in the bathroom and big windows.
If there’s a downside here, it’s that the house is close to its neighbors and the yard is really small. However, there’s a screened-in back porch, which gives you a nice place to relax and entertain that’s enclosed and offers a bit of privacy. The house is within walking distance to the waterfront park and the Heermance Public library, which is a great local landmark in the village.
