We’ve been curious about Kinderhook Lake for a while; information on the public swimming situation there is a little tough to locate, so if any of our fine readers have some knowledge they can lay on us, we’d love to hear it in the comments (we know there’s fishing/non-gas motor boat access). Kinderhook Lake was once the location of Electric Park, an amusement park that was hot in the early 20th century since it served tourists coming into the area via the Albany and Hudson railway. If you’re like us and interested in this kind of upstate history, here’s a bit about Electric Park.
There are quite a few lake houses tucked away around Kinderhook Lake, including this adorable Cape with its own boat dock. It’s small, less than 1,000 square feet, but it looks like a great little vacation spot close to cute towns like Kinderhook, Chatham, and Ghent. It’s a good spot if you love to fish. Kinderhook Lake is stocked with largemouth bass and perch.
