Victorian Mansion for $189k in Newburgh

I love the potential that this home has for the exterior. The trim, the steeple, the porch, the cornices, the original iron fence. On the inside, that’s another story. There is some really horrible wood paneling, dropped ceilings and ugly fireplaces. It’s also been butchered up into to smaller apartments. But this home is gorgeous, large, and pretty affordable at $189k. The kitchen is also retro, but newer than the house. If you are into period kitchens it could be tastefully kept. According to the listing there are 6 detached garages, and one even has loft potential. See below the jump for pricing and more pictures and details.

This home is more towards the outskirts of the City of Newburgh. It’s on the corner of Gidney Ave. and 9W. Easy access. It’s also only one block down from Newburgh’s version of Central Park, Downing Park which, was designed in the late 19th century by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux.

Doing a quick search I wasn’t able to find any history on this home. But a quick trip to the library or historical society might fix that.
