Victorian-Style Farmhouse in West Nyack: Old-world beauty with modern living.
Jane Anderson | February 22, 2025
This Victorian-style farmhouse in West Nyack sits on a bucolic acre that’s surprisingly close to amenities.
It was built in 1895 and is a nice mix of vintage detail and modern convenience. The exterior is cheery, creamy yellow, with white trim.

The wraparound porch has gingerbread accents, and two entrances.

The main entrance opens to a foyer facing the stairs.

The second leads to a hall between the kitchen and dining room. It looks like that door has an O.C. twist doorbell.

The living room has sage-toned walls with white trim. It’s large enough for a baby grand piano…

…in addition to a full seating area next to a bay window with a window seat.

The dining room is situated across the central foyer from the living room. It, too, is a generous size, with an assortment of windows—one of them stretches floor to ceiling!

The kitchen is open and airy, tucked at the back end of the house. Terra-cotta tile lines the floor. White cabinets are topped with black granite counters, and stainless-steel appliances finish the look. A breakfast room with a dinette flows from the kitchen…

…to a family room. It’s got a decorative fireplace flanked by built-in bookshelves. The hardwood floor here gleams, as it does throughout the main level.

A full bath on the main level has a pedestal sink and white-tiled shower stall.

Head upstairs to the second level, where bedrooms await. The primary bedroom shares the same paint color and beautiful flooring as the lower level. It also has a walk-in closet.

An impressively large, old-fashioned buffet has been repurposed into a double-sink vanity in the primary ensuite bath. The beige ceramic floor tile is repeated on the floor and walls of a glass-door shower stall.

This secondary bedroom has lush carpeting across some of its square footage. A windowed alcove provides office space.

Another bedroom has hardwood flooring and blue walls. Both of these rooms have generous closets.

This space does not have a closet, so *technically* it isn’t a bedroom, although it’s currently used as one. The intricate angles pop with white trim; the floor has textured carpeting.

The shared bath has a double-sink vanity, a shower stall, and (not shown) a bathtub. The floor has radiant heat.

A sweet red barn sits in the backyard.

It has two floors of storage/playroom/yoga space.

A horseshoe driveway passes underneath a porte-cochere at the back of the house.

Plus, there’s a bluestone pergola and an open gazebo amid a beautiful lawn. A lovely residential neighborhood surrounds it, yet plenty of shopping awaits within a three-mile radius: The iconic Rockland Bakery is a mere eight-minute jaunt.
