We’ve been looking for true Craftsman details in our house tours this week. This vintage-detailed Port Jervis Craftsman delivers on-point interior elements.

The exterior has been renovated almost completely out of its original iteration. Still, the tapered porch columns (now supporting an enclosed sunroom) can be seen on the corners of the former porch.

Leaded and stained glass remains, as well, in the foyer.

An identical stained-glass window illuminates the wall adjoining a vintage French door.

We love that the owners haven’t painted over that chestnut trim. This room has wall-to-wall carpeting. We’d love to find out if there’s a good hardwood floor under there.

There it is: Classic Craftsman shows up in spades in this colonnaded doorway. Tapered columns sit atop built-in bookcases that separate two rooms.

The kitchen has been modernized with black cabinetry and a granite-look countertop.

The stairs are carpeted, but the newel post and railings are beautifully vintage.

Even the hallway has rich wood detailing.

That built-in wardrobe is just stunning.

The bathroom is dated, with an avocado-green tub amid older tile and newer fixtures.

The bedrooms are a good size, with wood details…

…and wall-to-wall carpeting.

The sunroom has gray tiling on the floor.

A rear deck wraps around a corner.

Steps from the deck access the fenced backyard. The property totals just over a tenth of an acre—manageable for anyone to tackle.

The house is on the West End of Port Jervis, under a mile from West End Beach on the Delaware River. And it’s just a shade over a mile to ice cream at Riverside Creamery.
