Would You Walk a Mile for a Victorian in Delhi?

121 Delaware Avenue, Delhi: $167,000
When you think about it, 1 mile is really just 4 blocks. Depending on the size of the block, of course. But certainly not daunting when you’re thinking about the distance from your apartment to the nearest subway station. Same rules apply here with this pretty lady of a Victorian in the village of Delhi, Delaware County, except you’d be walking the 1 mile from your front door to the Trailways bus stop at 2 Kingston Street. We love that this house is on 3/4 of an acre convenient to Main Street (here’s Delhi’s page on Facebook, which will give you a peek into what to do there), not to mention the well-kept interior, but it’s all about the barn for us. The windows made us swoon just a little tiny bit. Sadly, it’s time for a reality check. The house is on the Little Delaware, which runs through the village, and Floodsmart.gov puts it at high-risk. And, there’s more. Despite its appearance this is a 2 bed/1 bath house, but listing states potential for 2 additional bedrooms in the attic. Is it worth the mile walk? Hm….
