Watching the Fall from the Barn at Witten Pond
Upstater Staff | September 23, 2014Happy Fall, everyone! Soon, the leaves will be doing their thing and blowing our minds with vivid hues, which means it’s time to find a weekend rental in the Catskills to watch it all take place. How about a barn with a wall of windows to do just exactly that? The Barn at Witten Pond in West Shokan looks ideal. Surrounded by lush greenery, the barn (which shares a wall with the owner’s private art gallery and office) looks out onto the pond and the rest of the property compound. Located on 15 secluded acres on a dead end one-lane road and sleeps three guests. Okay, so clearly the barn is incredible, but did you know that if you rent here, you can have arrange to have dinner delivered from Chef John Novi’s Depuy Canal House. Or, go into the restaurant and mention that you’re staying at the barn, and you’ll be given a seat at the chef’s table in the kitchen. That’s just too cool. Lots of dates available during peak leaf-peeping season. Rates are $300-$325/night, 3-night minimum.
