Cooperstown Winter Festival Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary

Cooperstown Winter Carnival celebrates its 50th anniversary beginning this weekend and running through Saturday, February 4. Alexander Hamilton in the Spotlight at the Albany Institute of History and Art

The Albany Institute of History and Art is hosting Spotlight: Alexander Hamilton, on view through March 5 this year. Hamilton first visited Albany in 1777, and three years later married Elizabeth Schuyler, the daughter of General Philip Schuyler. The ceremony took place at the Schuyler Mansion on Catherine Street. Spotlight: Alexander Hamilton includes objects from various collections affiliated with Hamilton’s staying in Albany. For more information, visit the Albany Institute’s website.

Printmaking and Drawing Classes at the Woodstock School of Art

Opened in 1906, the Woodstock School of Art offers a variety of workshops in all artistic disciplines. From January 21 to May 27 this year Kate McGloughlin will be teaching a printmaking workshop Saturdays, from 9 am to 12 noon. Also, on Saturdays from 9 am to 12 noon Les Castellanos will be teaching a drawing and painting from figure workshop, from January 21 to December 16 this year.
