The Object Lesson at Fisher Center

Fisher Center at Bard College presents The Object Lesson, an award-winning show exploring the relationship to the objects one encounters over the course of one’s life. Created and performed by Geoff Sobelle, and directed by David Neumann, the performance takes place at the LUMA Theater Thursday and Friday at 7:30 pm, and Saturday at 2 and 7:30 pm. Hudson Valley Philharmonic Performs Messiah at the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston

Keeping up with its tradition, Hudson Valley Philharmonic will once again perform Handel’s Messiah at the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston, this Saturday, December 19 at 2 pm. Capella Festiva, directed by Christine Howlett, will join in. Written in 1741, Messiah has been widely performed ever since. A pre-concert talk begins at 1 pm. For more information, visit upac.org.

Frosty Fest in Ulster Park

Ulster Park is hosting its annual Frosty Fest party Friday from 6 to 8 pm, Saturday from 4:30 to 8 pm, and Sunday from 4:30 to 7 pm. One of the best light shows in the region, this event includes many activities for children such as the Candy Cane Lane, Frosty’s Enchanted Forest, Glistening Gardens, the Magical Mansion, and more. SPARKLE Festival at Boscobel

Boscobel, an early 1800s Federal mansion situated on the banks of the Hudson River in Garrison, continues the celebration of its annual SPARKLE Festival this Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9 pm. Festivities this Friday include stilt walkers, puppet shows, ice carving demonstrations, and caroling. On Saturday the Libby Richman Trio will perform a holiday jazz concert, and the Sparkle Spinners will entertain an Illuminated Hoop Dancing party. For more information, visit boscobel.org.
