This Weekend: Olana’s “Spooky Theatrics”

Olana

Olana doesn’t look so scary during the daytime, does it? In fact, artist Frederic Church’s Columbia County estate is a work of art. But on Saturday, October 25, the site’s farm complex will transform into the backdrop for a live-action performance. The play, which moves from different points around the farm complex, tells the history of the Second Great Enlightenment, a time in the 19th and early 20th century when Spiritualism and the ability to communicate with the dead were widely-held beliefs. The audience moves from each scene, participating in the action as it moves along. While the event is rated PG, it gets creepier the darker it gets. Each performance is 45 minutes long with shows at 6pm, 8pm, and 10pm. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 the night of the tour, and $30 for a family of five (6pm only). Find out more on Olana’s website. Let the Halloween fun begin!
