Kandy Harris | June 20, 2014Have you seen Palenville’s revamped and fancy new website? Have a look, and while you’re poking around, click on the link for the Hidden Gallery Walk, which takes place this Saturday and Sunday, June 21 & 22, at various locations throughout the charming Greene County hamlet. This year, you’ll find works based around Palenville’s extinct Swinging Bridge (a casualty of Hurricane Irene) , tattoo art, tintypes, photographs, sketches, and a whole lot more. A group show featuring will be Palenville artists will be held at the Palenville Public Library, and there will be an outdoor exhibition on Mill Road. Get the whole list of artists and venues here (you’ll want to print out the map. Depending on your provider, cell service can be spotty in Palenville). If you find yourself peckish, stop at Pippy’s Hot Dog Truck and grab a bite. Don’t forget a bottle of wine for later on. If you’ve never been to Palenville, please avail yourself of this opportunity to get to know the place where American art began. The Hidden Gallery Walk is free. Gallery hours are from 12pm-6pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
