Who’s Afraid a Total Rehab?
Kandy Harris | May 30, 2014Maybe a little, but not enough to not post about it. This c.1880 farmhouse with barn in Ancramdale is kind of iconic in its little Columbia County hamlet 30 minutes southeast of Hudson. It’s positioned right at main intersection and only stoplight in Ancramdale, where Route 82 crosses County Road 7, around the corner from the Ancram Opera House. And it needs all kinds of work. Lot size is less than a quarter-acre. Price is $39,000. Could it be something other than residential? Would now be a good time for a dedicated investor to turn it into a destination? And most importantly, is than an outhouse attached to the barn? Perhaps, maybe, and it sure looks like it. We love the old fashioned look and the (potential) second floor balcony, and we know it’s none of business, but we hope whoever purchases this ramshackle gem holds tight to whatever its original character is salvageable.
And are we the only ones who can’t resist to urge to say “Total Rehab!” out loud in an Arnold Schwarzenegger voice?
