Earlier today, we showed you this Livingston Manor cabin in the woods, and we wanted to find out a bit more about Livingston Manor’s art scene. And yes, there is one, even out in a northern Sullivan County hamlet in the western Catskill Mountains. But that should come as no surprise. After all, we’ve devoted an entire week talking about this little villages and hamlets with their own art scenes, which means there are plenty.

Livingston Manor is were the Catskill Art Society (CAS) is located, and the multi-arts center on Main Street offers the area an array of events, exhibitions, classes, lectures, live music, and performance. Coming up on their agenda: January 28th Artist Talk with Donise English, coinciding with English’s CAS exhibit Encaustics. February 11th Film and Talk: Shakespeare in Love. March 4th DVAA Grant Writer Seminar.

Check out all of CAS’s events here, current exhibitions here. The CAS gallery is open Thursday through Saturday + Monday 11am-6pm, Sunday 11am-3pm. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
