Woodstock c.1880 Cottage on an Enchanted Half-Acre, $425,000

The Woodstock area offers a lot of family-friendly activities. And, Woodstock Elementary School sits right near the center of the village, making it highly accessible. Woodstock’s downside? Once your child finishes elementary school, they attend middle and high school at Onteora High School in Boiceville, 10 miles away. Village kids should expect to spend over a two hours/day riding the bus. That’s a lot.

Now for the upside. Woodstock has some alternatives to the Oneorta school district (which rates a respectable 7/10 on GreatSchools.org, by the way). Woodstock Day School, a private school, is located just a few miles outside of the village. The Hudson Valley Sudbury School is also located in the town of Woodstock. Additionally, the area is teeming with other activities for kids, include arts, crafts, and music. There’s simply no shortage of things to do, and we found a three bedroom house close to all of them.

Located within ten minutes of both the Day School and Sudbury School, this 19th century home has a contemporary, light filled interior with 3 beds/2 baths. The .4 acre property upon which the house sits includes a backyard stream with rocky outcroppings, a foot bridge, and lots of park-like room to run around outside. Situated ten minutes north of Woodstock village.
