Your New Place to Stay: Studio 286 Now Open in Uptown Kingston
Kandy Harris | July 9, 2015It might be Kingston’s new best-kept secret rental right now, but it won’t stay hidden for long. Studio 286, aptly-named for its address at 286 Fair Street in uptown, just had its grand opening last week, and it’s already booked up for this weekend. Once you take a look at the interior and the location, it’s not hard to see why. The 3-bedroom apartment in Kingston’s Stockade District has been beautifully renovated by owners Kerry Henderson (a New Zealand ex-pat/opera singer who has performed in venues all over the world including the Sydney Opera House) and Bex Roper-Caldbeck (an actor/interior designer) and offer a 1650-square foot space walking distance to all of the best places to eat in Kingston, not to mention a spot that requires no driving whatsoever since the Trailways bus stop is about a 5 minute walk away. Studio 286 also integrated a small boutique art gallery into the property. The apartment accommodates 7 guests and rents for $199/night weekdays and $299/night over weekends with a 2-night minimum stay on weekends and 3-night min. over some holidays. Check out their website for lots of photos and information. Oh, and speaking of great food, Studio 286 and is currently offering guests complimentary brunch at Duo Bistro, making this short-term or long-term rental even sweeter. Book through AirBnB.com or contact the owners for special rates at 845 514 7989 or email kerryjhenderson@gmail.com.
