Yurt Camping Achievement: Unlocked (?)

Is this it? Is this the year I finally fulfill my upstate New York fantasy of sleeping in a yurt? For $68/night, it seems more possible than ever in this glamp-tastic yurt located near Germantown in Columbia County. Why a yurt? It’s simple, really. I love to camp. I hate sleeping on the ground. I’ve had limited success with air mattresses. I want to sleep under the stars in a real bed protected from mosquitos. I want to wake up in the morning after having slept the sleep of someone unfettered by the stresses of modern conveniences and then scramble my eggs over a fire, and this looks like just the place to do all those things. According to the AirBnb listing, the yurt is privately situated on 20 acres near a swimming hole (swimming is key in this yurt camping fantasy of mine) and includes a wood patio, table, grill/fire pit, composting toilet (you read that, right? This might constitute a dealbreaker for some), and solar shower which apparently gets pretty hot. Hey, if I can shower and do my business in something other than a hole in the ground I had to dig myself (don’t think I haven’t; I grew up in Alaska), that sounds luxurious enough. The reviews are positive for the yurt, and there are lots of dates available in August. I’ll be praying to the Mongolian Yurt gods tonight for my yurt fantasies to become yurt realities. Min. 1-night stay. $68/night during weekdays, $79/night Fridays & Saturdays. Pets allowed but no larger than chickens. Accommodates 2 guests. Have you stayed here? Tell me about it in the comments.
