Retreating to (and nesting in) Narrowsburg
Kandy Harris | April 9, 2015The concept of the “retreat” has been on our minds a lot this week. We can’t do that without turning our thoughts to the little corner of the world known as Narrowburg. The Catskill Mountain village situated on the Delaware River is where the Nest boutique is located, right on Main Street. High end stuff, to be sure, and owner Anna Bern does not skimp on quality. The Brazilian-born Bern deals in handmade items from Brazil as well as the clothing line MATAHARI from Indonesia, and just recently, Bern has translated that eye toward design into the newly-opened Nest Inn. The guesthouse is a 1850s farmhouse right in the middle of the village and features two nicely-appointed guest rooms, each with a private bath. So, here’s what we’re thinking for the spring: A weekend retreat with a stay at the Inn, a shopping excursion to the Nest, and dinner at the Heron Restaurant, which just re-opened April 3. Boom. Weekend plans sorted. You’re welcome. For more info on booking at the Inn, email Anna Bern at annabern@hotmail.com or call 845-252-3424. GMAP.
