Upstater Destinations: Glimmerglass Queen Boat Tours
Kandy Harris | January 17, 2013There’s no shortage of things to do and see in Cooperstown. Museums abound, whether your interests run towards sports, art, or the history of farming. And since Cooperstown is situated on Lake Otsego, you can also take a boat tour around the lake to see the sites. The Glimmerglass Queen is operated by the Lake Front Hotel (which incidentally looks like a nice place to crash next time you’re in town) and is open to the public from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. If you’re a grown-up, it will cost you $15 to take the tour, and children’s admission is $10. The Glimmerglass Queen can also be chartered for private events and comes with hors d’oeuvres and booze for your cruise around the lake. You can even have your wedding on it.
If being trapped on a boat with strangers isn’t really your bag, check out This is Coopertown’s Top Ten Things to Do list. Long story short: It’s tough to stay bored in Cooperstown.
