Beacon Farmhouse, $324,900
Upstater | October 23, 2012The reason this renovated farmhouse from 1900 is about $100,000 more than some contemporaries in the area is simple: pool, with view. Be still our hearts: it’s a salt water pool. Our favorite kind.
There are some other laudable features at 209 East Main Street in Beacon, NY: the original beams, the four bedrooms and two baths, the pretty yard with rolling green grass — very close to town but up in the hills, with a faraway feeling.
The inside, well, it’s not exactly our taste — our readers know how we feel about floral wallpaper and colonial furniture. But we think with a few tweaks, some paint, maybe a de-paneling, it could be great.
209 E Main St, Beacon NY. $324,900. GMAP.
