It’s Not Too Late for a Summer Rental Upstate
Kandy Harris | July 1, 2014It’s not too late. You can still head up into the Catskills for a getaway. We just wouldn’t wait too much longer to jump all over this barn in the Sullivan County hamlet of Youngsville about 5 minutes from Jeffersonville, 15 minutes from Livingston Manor, and 2 hours, 10 minutes from NYC. Stylish and spacious, this modernized barn will sleep a whole mess of your friends and family (3 queen beds/2 baths plus all kinds of living space for those who don’t mind crashing on a couch), and there are plenty of dates available third week in July through all of August and into the fall. The pictures tell the story of just how roomy and fun the interior is, but the listing suggests this might not be the best place for the little ones given the spiral staircase and all the goodies close to the floor. But older kids or just adults, why not? Includes a pond on the property with no mention of whether it’s swimmable. Good new is, this is Sullivan County, where you’re never too far from a swimming hole or a bathing beach. Watershed Post has some good recommendations. There’s also here, and you can always check out the swimming hole website for even more options. Rates are $225/night, $1650/week, $5900/month. Per-night rates go up to $250 on weekends.
