A Pair of Coxsackie Riverfront Live/Work Lofts, $270,000
Kandy Harris | June 2, 2015Two lofts are included in the sale of this brick building in the village of Coxsackie with some river views thrown in for good measure. Both lofts have 11 foot ceilings, exposed brick walls, wood floors, and kitchenettes, and we’re thinking, why not live on the second floor and turn the first floor into a retail space? Or a gallery. Or a cafe. Or…something else we’re not thinking of yet. Easier said than done, of course. While Coxsackie is a cute Greene County village that we love to wander through while drooling over architecture (a lot of it abandoned), it’s not like the people are moving into town in droves. Doesn’t mean they won’t. We have no doubt that Coxsackie’s location, look, and cheap real estate prices will catch up to itself someday and perhaps turn it around, but it’s not there yet. Maybe someone could help it along by establishing a local business in this loft space. Rear of building faces the waterfront park and the river.
