Tucked-Away Chatham Colonial in Need of TLC, $130,000
Kandy Harris | February 18, 2016This Chatham, Columbia County Colonial might be walking distance to the village, but it’s well-obscured and offers a fairly private backyard complete with in-ground pool. Unfamiliar with Chatham? You should get familiar with it by taking a visit. There’s some good places to eat, a brewery, cute boutiques galore, a gourmet cheese shop, wine store, and an indie movie theater. Chatham even has its own professional musical theater with a lively summer stock program. All of these things definitely put it near the top of our favorite tiny towns list.
As for this house, we like the exterior and half-acre property itself more than the inside of this 2300 sq. ft., 3 bed/1.5 bath house, which is dark, dated, and in need of TLC. But it comes with a red two-story barn and a rural small-town setting just 2.5 hours from NYC.
25 27 Spring Street, Chatham (Beach & Bartolo)
