A Barn-Centric Contemporary Two-Bedroom in Clinton Corners: $964K

  |  May 7, 2024

Upstater is in the Dutchess County village of Clinton Corners today, at a two-home compound.

First off is this barn-centric contemporary two-bedroom. The red color scheme emanates barn vibes.

Open the front door to a slim foyer with vinyl plank flooring.

That flooring continues through the house, including here in the living room. That’s a cool fireplace.

It’s a freeform stone fireplace, rimmed in rope (for real).

Glass sliders across the room drop a Hopper ethos in sunlight.

The kitchen is black, white, and stainless steel.

We’re digging that integrated breakfast bar.

The home has two bedrooms. This one has a double-door closet and more of that vinyl planking.

Fur-kids make their home in the second bedroom, apparently. The baseboards and windows are trimmed in dark wood that complements the plank floor.

The single bathroom in the house has a tub/shower and a contemporary black-and-white vanity.

An outside deck has verdant views.

This vintage white barn is functional as well as cute.

Slide the doors apart to find a main level finished with a concrete floor, with a flight of wooden stairs to the second story.

An overview shot of the second home—described in the listing as a cabin—doesn’t exist in pictures. But here’s the entry, with a stone path leading to a wooden landing tucked into a corner of the home’s exterior.

Coppery pipes support free-floating shelves in this kitchen. The lower cabinets are dark, and the countertops are light. The floor looks to be the same vinyl planking as in the main house.

Rustic beams separate the kitchen/dining area from the rest of the main level. A raised platform in the corner of a carpeted room signifies where a wood stove should be. Is this a bedroom, or a living room?

It’s a bunkhouse, with two pairs of bunkbeds.

Hiding behind one of these doors is a bathroom.

The cabin has a separate driveway and is perched right near this pond for fishing, meditating, or simply pondering. The property—all 87 acres of it—is fairly secluded. Yet it’s just 20 minutes to Rhinebeck for candy at Samuel’s Sweet Shop, or about the same distance to Staatsburg for cool lessons in history.
