A Two-Story in Goshen for $269.9K

  |  June 13, 2024

Perhaps Upstater should celebrate Unicorn Thursday—today, we’re featuring a spacious home that’s a fraction of the median sales price in Goshen.

Location, location, location, as the real estate gurus say: This two-story in Goshen needs a lot of cosmetic updates, but the relatively low price (sub-$300K) allows for that. The exterior has the potential for a charming covered front porch and some room for pretty landscaping.

The entry, of course, has more than its share of flowers, interpreted as floral wallpaper up, down, and all around. We kinda love that winding staircase.

A tin ceiling is the highlight in this room, which has wood flooring and wood-paneled walls.

It’s a good-sized space.

The board-and-batten ceiling in the dining room sidles down to the walls. This room seems a bit tired and could use a refresh.

This office has a hotplate, coffeemaker, and fridge—can we call it a second kitchen that’s, say, “off the books”?

This slim sunroom has seen better days, too.

The legit kitchen has worn flooring and walls.

The wood on those cabinets is rather snazzy, though, and may be worth repurposing.

Follow the floral walls up the main staircase to the second floor.

Here’s the first of two bedrooms, with blue wall-to-wall carpeting and wood-paneled walls.

The second bedroom seems pulled from a Midcentury Modern film cel, with its wood paneling.

The bathroom needs an update amid the clutter. There’s promise in that big, bright window, though.

The basement is bathed in purple. We can see the second bathroom from here.

It’s salmon-colored, like the other one.

An above-ground pool shares the home’s nearly-quarter-acre property.

It’s a short walk to Pharmacy Kitchen + Bar, where we recommend the Smoked Old-Fashioned.
