Bearsville Converted Barn, $1,600/mo.
Kandy Harris | August 26, 2014This Bearsville converted barn is right up our alley in terms of design sensibility: It’s simple and inviting with a touch of rustic charm and just the right amount of Bohemian minus anything hippy-dippy. There’s almost a Mediterranean villa kind of feel to it, what with the kitchen that practically begs you to cook in it and the tiled floors. Includes both a bluestone fireplace and a woodstock, which should keep much of the house cozy during the colder months. It’s located just outside of Woodstock in the hamlet of Bearsville, close enough to Woodstock for convenience’s sake but far enough away to feel like it’s in the country. Available starting December. On a somewhat unrelated note, has anyone else noticed a subtle downward shift of rental prices in Ulster County of late? Is it because the summer season is over? Is it because folks looking to rent just couldn’t afford Ulster and began to look further north, prompting landlords to drop their prices? Or is it just wishful thinking on our part?
