Boscobel House and Garden’s Sparkle 2015
Mary Looram | November 4, 2015
Despite the unseasonably warm weather this past week, the winter and its chill is quickly headed to upstate NY. This year, as in years past, Boscobel House and Gardens will be showcasing an array of winter light displays and attractions at Sparkle 2015. During the month of December, stop by the 1804 mansion to see Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus in the Sparkle Garden, the Snow Queen stilt walker, ice carving demonstrations, a puppet show, and more wintry fun. The all-weather event is outdoors on the grounds, so Hudson Hil’s Cafe and Market will be warming up the crowd with hot cocoa and freshly prepared food.

Sparkle is only the first three Fridays and Saturdays in December, and tours are already filling up fast. Head over to Boscobel’s website to purchase either Grounds Only ($15 for adults) or Grounds Plus ($25 for adults) tickets. Light a fire under your as-of-yet unfrozen tush and purchase a Grounds Plus ticket, which includes a reservation only Twilight Tour of the decorated mansion. Bring the kids along and re-experience the childlike joy of the Christmas season through their eyes, or just act like a giddy child yourself. But remember: Santa has his eye out for any last-minute additions to the naughty list.
