Buy This Male Model’s House in Columbia County
Kandy Harris | February 14, 2014Frankly, we had to Google model Ben Hill to find out who he is and why he earns an article in the NY Daily News about selling his upstate house (Spoiler Alert: He’s a model), but the house is cool. For the low, low price of $1.3 million, you can pick up Hill’s sleek, modern waterfront cottage in the Columbia County town of Chatham. Apparently, Ben Hill designed this place himself, and we have to admit, it looks like a bachelor pad. A slightly cozier and brighter one, but a bachelor pad, nonetheless. Anyway, in the article, the real estate agent from Halstead, Mary Stapleton, called Columbia County “the new Hamptons”. Huh. What do you think? Columbia County = Hamptons? We’re not seeing it yet, since Columbia County isn’t just places like Hudson and Chatham. It’s also Valatie, Stuyvesant, Kinderhook, Copake, Germantown, and New Lebanon, places that not even folks who live just south of here have even heard. They’re more rural, more undiscovered. But the agent is right; it is going to get harder to find those undiscovered gems, not just in Columbia County but Sullivan, Delaware, and Greene Counties, too. What do see in store for the future of the HV/Catskills? Ponder that while you look at these pictures of a supermodel’s house:
