We know when summer is in its full sultry swing when we observe the Bard SummerScape program coming up on the horizon. And indeed, its opening festivities are but weeks away. Opening night is June 27th with the Trisha Brown Dance Company performing Proscenium Works: 1979-2011 as part of the company’s farewell tour. Find out more about that here. Later on in July through August, SummerScape, which the NYT described as “bootcamp for the brain, spa for the spirit”, will focusing its performances on the works of 19th century Austrian composer Franz Schubert, the greatest, most prolific composer during the Romantic period. More on that here. There will be opera. There will be theater. And, soon, there will be Spiegeltent. That’s right, almost time for that one, too. July is just around the corner. Can you believe it?
